Private Barcelona Highlights and Wine

Combine the main attractions of Barcelona with a visit to one of Catalunya’s finest vineyards in this enjoyable guided full-day tour. Admire some of the most important buildings of visionary architect Antoni Gaudi as well as some of those of his contemporaries, then enjoy a gourmet experience at the Oller del Mas wine cellars and golf club, situated in a 10th Century castle at the foot of the Montserrat mountain range.

The tour will start at Montjuic, site of the famous Olympic Ring before we head for the Passeig de Gracia, one of the city's most famous boulevards. Your guide will explain how the budding Catalan bourgeoisie flocked here to display their newly made wealth through the construction of extravagant apartment blocks. Admire two of Gaudi's greatest creations, Casa Batlló and Casa Milà.

Next stop is the Parc Guell. These gardens were first commissioned by the Guell family as a part of a landscaped housing development. However the venture was unsuccessful and the area was bought up by the municipality and turned into a public park. On this guided walking tour you'll see all the main features including the world-famous dragon staircase with its mosaic of broken tiles.

The last stop is the Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's unfinished masterpiece. The Basilica can be seen a synthesis of the great architect's overall conception of architecture. Your guide will point out the richness of detail and explaining its meaning so you can appreciate this fascinating and extraordinary building in full.

Round off the tour with a visit to the Oller del Mas wine cellars and golf club, situated in a 10th Century castle at the foot of the Montserrat mountain range. Enjoy a delicious traditional meal in the clubhouse restaurant and then go for a stroll around the vineyards before going on a guided tour of the wine cellars and sampling some of estate's best wines and local cheeses in the company of a wine expert.
