Embark on a voyage of discovery into the Baja California outback that will culminate with a camel ride on the beach and a feast of Mexican cuisine. ˂br˃˂br˃ The Outback and Camel Safari features a drive through the spectacular scenery of the desert, a trek through the Rancho San Cristobal, tequila tasting and, in winter months, the possibility of whale watching. ˂br˃˂br˃ Among the more astonishing sights will be cacti that are hundreds of years old and as tall as four-storey houses.˂br˃˂br˃ The adventure begins with a drive though the desert in an open-air Unimog truck. ˂br˃˂br˃ Once at the ranch, the guides will take you on a gentle nature walk through the desert that will allow you to discover indigenous flora and fauna. ˂br˃˂br˃ Then there is the unforgettable camel ride on the beach, which during the winter months often allows participants the chance to see humpback whales in action. ˂br˃˂br˃ The lunch is an extravaganza of the best of Mexican food. A feast will be laid out at a local ranch, where you can savour hand-made tortillas, beans and salsas. ˂br˃˂br˃ A tequila tasting session will teach you how this regional spirit is made and about the different types of tequila. You will also taste mescal, famous for having a worm in the bottle, and learn how it is different from tequila. ˂br˃˂br˃ Round trip transportation from the hotel is available. When making the reservation, specify the hotel to arrange for pick up as this service can be subject to availability. Participants must be aged six or over.
