Motorbike Museum

Barcelona, the city with most motorbikes per capita in Europe, has a museum dedicated entirely to the world of the motorcycle in a renovated space of 600 m2 in a unique location underneath the convent of Sant Felip Neri in the Gothic Quarter of the city.

The Mario Soler Private Motorbike Museum Foundation is the culmination of a project which came to light in the first half of the 20th century as a result of the work done by Mario Sole, a devoted motorcycle and mechanics fan, who spent many years collecting and restoring motorcycles in his small workshop in Bassella (alt Urgell, Lleida).

The museum´s permanent exhibition, "The history of the Catalan motorcycle, an industry pioneer, 1905 - 2010" showcases the history of motorcycles in Catalonia through 36 significant models. Learn about the fascinating history of motorcycles in this part of Spain where there have been more than one hundred and fifty motorcycle factories over the years, from big brands such as Monetsa or Derby to small family run factories.

The temporary exhibition "24 Hours of Montjuic" pays tribute to the legendary racing circuit of Montjuic from 1955 to 1986 portraying the motorcycles that took part in the races, the different champions, the pits and memorabilia that will delight all motorcycle lovers.
