Spend your time in the Cadiz port discovering the beautiful Andalusian town of Cadiz. Meet your local guide outside the harbor and make your way to Plaza Sevilla. Stop at the Puerta de Tierra, an old marble military fortification from the 18th century. Wander around the Santa Maria district, Cadiz’s oldest quarter and believed to be the birthplace of Flamenco dance! Continue with a visit to the Church of San Juan de Dios and Cadiz Cathedral.
Discover interesting regional products at the Flower Market, before heading to the Tavira Tower (Torre Tavira), one of the highest points of the city. This watch tower holds a dark chamber (camara oscura) with capacity for 18 people, which offers 360-degree panoramic views of the city.
Pass the Teatro Falla and the Canastas Square before entering the emblematic district of La Vina, home to Cadiz’s carnival. Continue on to La Caleta beach, the most popular beach of the city and continue to San Sebastian and Santa Catalina castles before reaching Genoves Park. Breath in deeply as you explore the park, with more than 100 different types of trees.
Walk along the Alameda and discover the numerous squares Cadiz has to offer: San Francisco, Mina and La Candelaria square, among others. Go through Arcos de La Muralla to Plaza de Espana, where you will have a traditional Andalusian lunch at a local restaurant. Enjoy a regional 3-course lunch with wine or beer of the region, while Flamenco dancers perform near you.
