Day One
Arrive in Johannesburg at midmorning, transfer to Centurion Lake Hotel. Lunch on the deck. After lunch, a site seeing tour of Pretoria the Union Buildings and Paul Kruger House.
Day Two
Early morning drive to the Waterberg mountains, followed by ‘Adventures with elephants’. This experience includes interaction with elephants: find out how elephants understand and learn; test how good an elephants memory is; and a short elephant back safari. Lunch at the adjoining Zebula lodge. After lunch visit their lion cubs and small reptile park. Return to Pretoria.
Day Three
Early morning visit to the Voortrekker monument. The museum depicts Afrikaner history and their struggle. Followed by a tour of Soweto, South Africa’s most populous black residential community with its history and struggle. This will include a visit to the Hector Pieterson memorial and the former home of Nelson Mandela. Lunch will be in Soweto, sampling local African cuisine.
Day Four
This day is a full day transfer, moving down the escarpment from the Highveld to the Lowveld, experiencing the vastness of South Africa. You will be heading towards the Kruger National Park to Hazyview with a lunch break half way. Accommodation will be at the luxurious Casa Do Sol.
Day Five
Experience a full day Safari in an air conditioned vehicle in the lower parts of the Kruger National Park trying to spot the Big Five. A light picnic lunch is included and accommodation at Casa Do Sol.
Day Six
This is a sight-seeing day up the escarpment along the Panorama Route. Visits to Pilgrim’s rest, Graskop, Bourke’s luck Potholes and the Three Rondawels are included. After lunch you travel down the beautiful Abel Erasmus pass to your 4-star tented camp accommodation, at the Karongwe private game reserve. That evening you can enjoy a three-hour evening game drive in an open top Safari vehicle.
Day Seven
You can choose either a three-hour game drive or bushwalk at dawn and spend the rest of the day relaxing. Complete your day with an evening game drive.
Day Eight
Full day transfer back to Pretoria and accommodation at Centurion Lake Hotel.
Day Nine
Drive through to the Pilanesburg and Sun city. Spend the day ta the valley of the waves and exploring the resort. In the late afternoon go for a game drive in the Pilanesberg nature reserve and accommodation at Tshukudu private lodge.
Day Ten
Weather permitting; there will be an early morning hot air balloon ride over the Pilanesburg nature reserve with a champagne breakfast. Then spend the day doing various activities of your choice such as hiking, golf, quad biking or archery.
Day Eleven
Travel to Johannesburg. On the way there stop at Lesedi Cultural Village to experience 5 different African homesteads see how the people live there local traditions and try their food too. Then off to the airport to catch a flight to Cape Town. Cape Town accommodation is at the 4 star Portswood Hotel at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront
Day Twelve
Head straight for Table Mountainif it is a clear day as Cape weather is temperamental. Take in all the views and explore the mountain. Then down to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront and jump on a fairy to Robben Island a former prison where Nelson Mandela spent 18 of his 27 years in prison.
Day Thirteen
We’ll travel along the coast through camps bay to cape pointand the cape of good hope and visit South Africa’s biggest lighthouse. On the way back on the others side of the peninsula we will stop at Kirstenbosch botanical gardens., known as the most beautiful garden in Africa.
Day Fourteen
Drive up to Stellenbosch, South Africa’s oldest town and explore the famous cape wine lands. Visit a couple of exclusive wine farms and enjoy a late lunch at Boschendal winery. After lunch drive to the airport and catch an evening flight back Home.
