City Sightseeing Moscow

Discover all the great things to do and see in Moscow with City Sightseeing.

Explore Moscow from the top deck of an open top bus
Moscow, Russia’s capital city, is steeped in history and home to 20 million inhabitants. Hop on and off at key locations and explore Moscow at your leisure. The bus tour starts at Moscow’s renowned Red Square which is home to the 16th Century St. Basil's Cathedral, one of the most famous pieces of architecture in the world, plus the constructivist pyramid of Lenin's Mausoleum.

Travel over Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge, a concrete arch structure which spans the Moscow River and connects the Red Square and Bolshaya Ordynka Street of Zamoskvorechye. The bridge’s architect, Alexey Shchusev, chose pink granite as the facade to make the bridge look as if built by real rock. Absorb the history of Balchug street, one of the oldest Moscow streets outside of the Kremlin walls. Admire the unmistakable red brick factory of Red October which is situated on Bolotny Island in the middle of the Moscow River and has become an architectural icon.

Hop on and off at any of the stops along the route at your leisure
Take the bus tour to the Udarnik Movie Theater, a monument to Russian constructivism, the only cinema in Russia with a telescopic opening roof, which has never actually operated. Hop off and admire the world famous Kremlin, the historic fortified complex at the heart of Moscow, which overlooks the Moskva River, Saint Basil's Cathedral and Red Square.

The complex serves as the official residence of the President of the Russian Federation and includes four palaces, four cathedrals and the enclosing Kremlin Wall with Kremlin towers. Admire the golden-domed cathedrals, old chambers and magnificent palaces and discover the rich history of the Kremlin in the museum exhibitions. The Tsar Bell stands on a large pedestal in the Kremlin in the vicinity of the Ivan the Great Bell Tower. It is the largest bell in the world, weighing almost 202 tons and standing more than 6 metres high and 6.6 metres across.

See the famous sights of a city steeped in history
The legendary St. Basil’s Cathedral (officially called «The Cathedral of the Intercession of the Virgin by the Moat») is a striking structure now used as a museum. Ascend the wooden staircase, which was only uncovered during restoration in the nineteen seventies, into the central church. Here you can admire the building’s extraordinary, soaring tented roof and a fine 16th Century décor.

The route also takes in the stunning Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, the tallest Orthodox Christian church in the world. Take the bus tour to the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts which is the largest museum of European art in Moscow. The International musical festival Svyatoslav Richter's December nights has been held in the Pushkin museum since 1981. With your ticket you can also take advantage of the ‘Moscow never sleeps’ night tour and see the City and the famous buildings wonderfully lit under a night sky.
