Beginning next to the statue of the Empress Sissi of Austria, situated in the garden of the Casino Madeira, it follows in the direction of Funchal passing along to 'Quinta Vigia', the official residence of the Regional Government of Madeira and visit the garden of ‘Parque de Santa Catarina’ where we find the Chapel of St. Catherine dated 1425 and the bronze statue of Christopher Columbus and Henry the Navigator. We follow the main road and find in the right Municipal Theater Baltazar Dias and in the left the City Garden. In front we find the Funchal Cathedral, built in the century XVI, in the form of a Latin cross has a red stone façade of the island, dominated by a portal warhead, a royal crown and rosette carved. We went towards the embroidery factory, where we can appreciate this Madeira art, taste the ‘Poncha’, Madeira wine and honey cake. We headed to the Farmers Market, a graceful combination of 'art deco' and modernism. After the visit we will walk through the Old Town, more precisely in ‘Rua de Santa Maria’, 1st street to be built on the island of Madeira and finish next to the gondola station.
