Day 1: Arrivel in Lima
Upon arrival you will be transferred to theselected hotel.
Day 2: Lima City
After breakfast, guided sightseeing tour to the most attractive and important sites in Lima, the " City of Kings ". The tour includes Lima's Historical Centre, passing by Plaza San Martin, The Main Plaza, the Government Palace, the City Hall, the Cathedral and its Religious Art Museum, the Church of Santo Domingo, with the tombs of Santa Rosa and San Martin de Porras, and Lima's Colonial Balconies. We will visit the Convent and Church of San Francisco, the greatest monumental complex of Colonial Art in America and Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The tour includes a visit to the Basilica of 21 altars, Convent of Cloisters, Capitulary and Clementine Rooms, Chorus and Library of the Monks, a Museum showing 11 paintings of the Rubens School, the Sacristy with paintings of Surbaran and Ribera, its great patio decorated with Seville tiles of XVIth Century, Moorish arches and underground Catacombs. And finally we will go to the residential Districts of San Isidro and Miraflores, passing by the Huaca Pucllana, a Ceremonial and Administrative Centre of the Lima Culture built in the II Century A.C. that the Incas considered as "Ñaupallaqta" or Sacred Town. We will also visit El Olivar Park with olive trees brought from Spain in the XVth Century, the Central Park of Miraflores and Larcomar, a symbol of modern Lima and a tourist and entertainment centre as well as a privileged site to enjoy an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean.
Day 3: Lima / Cusco
Meet upon arrival and transfer to your selected hotel. Remaining morning free to rest in your hotel in order to avoid altitude sickness. In the afternoon, we will visit the City of Cusco on a guided sightseeing tour visiting the Main Square. the Cathedral and the Temple of the Sun or Korikancha Then, we drive out of the City to visit the Inca sites of Kenko, Tambomachay, Puca Pucara and the impressive Fortress of Sacsayhuaman strategically built on a hill overlooking Cusco, famous for its enormous carved stones, some of them standing over 9 m / 30 ft high and weighing over 350 tons.
Day 4: Sacred Valley of The Incas & Machupicchu
Breakfast. Full-day excursion to the «Sacred Valley of the Incas», by the Vilcanota River. We will have the opportunity to share closely the peasants' customs and bargain with vendors at the typical indian market of Pisac, held on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Lunch in a local countryside restaurant. After lunch, passing through the Towns of Calca and Urubamba, we visit the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo. built to guard the entrance to this part of the Valley, and protect it from possible invasion from the tribes in the Lower jungle. The Fortress consists of a series of stepped carved stone terraces accessed by long staircases. Later on you can walk through the quaint streets of the nearby Town, and get a good idea of what this Strategic Military, Religious, and Agricultural Centre was like during the era of the Inca Empire.
Day 5: Machupicchu / Cusco
The day starts with an early morning rise to transfer to Cusco Train Station for a three hour train journey to the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, also known as «The Lost City of the Incas», one of the best known examples of surviving Inca architecture. Arrive at Aguas Calientes Station followed by a 30-minute bus drive, climbing 6km of winding road, to the marvellous Citadel. Upon arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial (the most important preserved Intihuatana), the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds. After the tour you'll have time to stroll around the Archaeological Site at your leisure. Lunch at a local restaurant and a late afternoon return to Cusco. Overnight in your selected hotel in Cusco.
Day 6: Cusco / Lima / Guayaquil
After breakfast, transfer and assistance on your departure to Lima & Guayaquil upon arrivel transfer to the selected hotel
Day 7: Guayaquil
Our day starts at 9am with a walk in Guayaquil Down Town, visiting the main Cathedral and the “Plaza de las Iguanas”, afterwards we will continue the walk to the “Malecón 2000” port at the shores of Guayas river, and walk all the way enjoying the nice architecture from the harbor, the shops, gardens, monuments water fountains and ships, ending the visit with the nice colonial neighborhood of “Las Peñas” where we will climb up the Santa Ana hill towards the summit light house, were we can also observe cannons that were used to defend the city from pirate attacks; this spot has the most amazing view from the city and the Guayas River. Once we come down we will enjoy a nice lunch and afterwards go and visit The Historic Park, a nice 20 acre preserved area, which shows an amazing fauna and flora from the coast mixed between the magnificent mangrove trees, in this park we also find the first houses built in Guayaquil with all their history, culture and amazing architecture. Finally we will go back to the hotel at 5pm approximately.
Day 8: Guayaquil / Galapagos Island
Transfer to Guayaquil Airport fro oyur flight to San Cristobal Island San Cristobal or Chatham the easternmost island of Galapagos is also one of the oldest. Eroded volcanic peaks in the northern part of the island and rich vegetation in the southern portion characterize the island. Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, the principal town is the provincial capital and the second largest settlement area in the islands. Lobos Island is a small flat island, located 10 kilometers northeast of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, on the coast of Isla San Cristobal. Isla Lobos name is given because it is home to several sea lions that frolic on the beach and his fur brown highlights on the white sand. He is also the ideal place to watch nesting frigates and blue-footed boobies. It has a protected channel where you can go snorkeling with sea lions.
Day 9: Punta Peet — Cerro Brujo
Cerro Brujo is a beautiful beach of white coral beach where you can swim and watch birds and sea lions, plus you can snorkel. Located on the north coast of Isla San Cristobal. In the vicinity of the beach you can see seabirds like blue-footed boobies, Nazca boobies, herons, frigate birds and shore birds.
Day 10: Española: Punta Suárez – Gardner Bay
This point of land has amazing colonies of sea birds in Galápagos. Sea lions and mockingbirds will welcome us. Gardner Bay.- This bay is a 45-minute boat ride from Punta Suarez. It has a white sand beach and there is a small colony of sea lions. The possibilities for swimming or scuba diving are excellent here
Day 11: Floreana Point Cormoran — Post Office Bay
Corona del Diablo.- This site is an excellent place for scuba diving. The beautiful coral formations offer a wonderful underwater panorama. You can also easily see schools of multi-colored fish, sharks and marine turtles at a depth of only 6 meters. Post Office Bay.- Here you will see the famous barrel that served as the mailbox for eighteenth century whaling ships. Now tourists leave their unstamped letters or postcards for the next passengers to mail.Punta cormorant.- This site has a beach of green olivine crystal sand. The island has a lagoon filled with flamingos. Walking on towards the other side, there is a fine white sand beach where marine turtles nest from December to May. Wet landing
Day 12: Puerto Ayora: Charles Darwin — Airport
Santa Cruz: This is the most heavily populated island in the archipelago. Its port, Puerto Ayora, is an obligatory stop for all ships, so there are many hotels, restaurants, souvenir shops, discotheques, bars, internet coffee shops and other stores where tourists can spend their time shopping or getting to know other people. The most important site on this island is the Charles Darwin Scientific Station. An excellent way to begin learning about the islands and their origin and formation is to visit the Station. You can also see how the Galapagos turtles are raised and meet Jorge, the famous solitary turtle. The Scientific Station has its own beach that receives many visitors on weekends. A 45-minute walk from Puerto Ayora takes you to one of the most beautiful beaches in Galapagos, Tortuga Bay. This beach is special because the sand is extremely white and fine. You can swim or scuba dive here. Some boats include a visit to the high part of the island. Santa Rosa, the lava tunnels, the Chato turtle reserve and the Gemelos are well liked by tourists. There are also other important sites on Santa Cruz, but it is necessary to take a boat to reach them easily: Caleta Tortuga Negra, Bachas Beach, Cerro Dragon, Conway Bay and Whaler Bay. Day 13: Quito
Departing from Quito on the Pan-American North Highway, you'll make a brief stop in Calderon, a town where the famous 'masapan' dolls are made. If time allows, you'll make a second stop at the highway's mirador to admire and take pictures of the beautiful landscape and snow capped mountains of the zone. Crossing the equatorial line at Guachala (used to be the middle of the world monument), you'll head up to Otavalo and make a stop at Mira Lago to take pictures of the beautiful San Pablo lake. The tour then continues to Otavalo where the Otavalenos (natives) set up a market in which a bartering manner of shopping is occurs. The market hosts a variety of different handcrafted items. Continuing the trip, you'll go to Cotacachi, famous for its leather articles. Browse the shops or upgrade to the optional lunch package to enjoy the local flavors at the well known La Marquesa restaurant. Afterwards, you'll go to Peguche, a small village known for its waterfalls and wind instruments fabrics.
Day 14: Departure from Quito to Home
After breakfast you’ll be transferred back to Manaus where you will board the flight back home.
