Full Day to Machu Picchu

Take a day trip to breathtaking Machu Picchu from Cusco. Learn about the city, its history and the people who once lived there.

The excursion begins with an early pick up from your hostel. You will be transferred to the train station in the town of Ollantaytambo where a train will take you to Aguas Calientes, on this train journey along the Urubamba river the scenery is breath taking. Then you will have to walk a few minutes to take a mini bus up to the citadel of Machu Picchu to start the guided tour. This site kown as «Lost City of the Incas» is one of the most renowned examples of Inca architecture, here you will visit the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, houses, warehouses, a large central square; all connected by narrow roads and steps that are surrounded by terraces cut into the mountain side. After the tour there will be time to walk around the site on your own. Return at night to Ollantayambo by train, then a bus will take you back to the city of Cuzco.
