Colonial & Modern Lima

Explore the modern suburbs of San Isidro and Miraflores where we will see the Financial Centre, the San Isidro Golf Course and the Olive Grove Park, a scenic place of tranquillity where you can breathe clean fresh air and admire the surroundings. Keep your eyes open for the many species of birds flying around the park; it is amazing how many different species you can find in the middle of a city like Lima.

Discover the breathtaking Huaca Pucllana, a pre-Inca pyramid-shaped temple that has survived the expansion of modern civilisation. Be astounded by the remains of the Señor de los Unkus, which holds burial shrouds containing the remains of three adults and of a sacrificed child. Stroll through the romantic Parque del Amor, where you will have perfect photo opportunities and enjoy a nice view of the Pacific Ocean.

Visit Lima’s historic centre, a Unesco World Heritage Site, and see the Plaza Mayor, the oldest public place in Lima, which that was built by the conquistador, Francisco Pizarro. Other highlights include the Presidential Palace, the cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace, the City Hall and the Desamparados Train Station. Also see Plaza San Martin, a large park surrounded by old colonial buildings still displaying beautiful carved wood balconies, and other landmarks.

Continue San Francisco Monastery and admire the impressive main portal and the underground catacombs. At the end of the tour you will have an opportunity to shop at the colourful Indian Market, where the locals buy their Peruvian goods.
