Based in an exceptionally comfortable lodge in the heart of the Peruvian Amazon, this adventure showcases the local wildlife and unique culture found in the Amazon jungle. This trip will take you on breathtaking boat excursions and jungle treks where you will observe exotic wildlife such as pink dolphins, monkeys, sloths and various birds. This three day trip will provide truly unforgettable sights and experiences.

*Excursions for an additional charge:

• Insect and Herbarium: Visit the Botanical Garden where we will learn all about the medicinal plants, also we will taste the famous aphrodisiac drinks of the jungle. Thereafter we will pass to the insect area to observe the giant black tarantula, phosphorescents frogs, poison frogs, grasshopper stick, rhinoceros beetle, finally the macrodonta (King of the insects).
• Amazon Wildlife River Tour: Navigating through the Momon, Nanay and Amazon Rivers located in Fundo Don Pedrito, your guide will point out Paiches, Piranhas, Caimans as well the famous aquatic plant "Victoria Regia."
• Sunrise Boat Tour: The tour starts early morning at 5:00 a.m. where you will be navigated through the Momon River reaching the confluence of Nanay and Amazon Rivers. You will have spectacular aunrise views on the Amazon River with the chance to observe the Gray and Pink Dolphins.
• Snake Tour: Join a naturalist for a guide tour, where you will have a chance to spot different species of snakes including Anacondas, Boas as well as a variety of Monkeys, Macaws, Toucans and the prehistoric Turtle.
• Pilpintuwasi Butterfly Farm: Visit the Pilpintuwasi Butterfly Farm for an inside look at the metamorphosis of butterflies with a close up look at the magnificent blue morpho and owl butterflies. Pilpintuwasi is also a wildlife sanctuary providing safe haven to sloths, ocelots, jaguars and other various animals.

Day 1

Amazonian Trails representatives will greet you at the Iquitos airport for transfer to the port, where you will embark on a 30 minute boat ride to the Irapay Amazon Lodge. Upon arrival at Irapay, you will be welcomed with fresh local juice before being taken to your respective cabin. Your first Amazonian meal will be at the onsite Maloca Restaurant, featuring spectacular views of the Momon River. After you have finished lunch, you will be taken for a visit to the native Bora community for an inside look at their local culture and customs shared through traditional songs, dance and crafts. You will return in time for your first look at the wonderful colors of the Amazonian sunset. Following the sunset, enjoy a scenic dinner at the Maloca Restaurant.

Day 2

Following a buffet style breakfast, you will depart for a guided nature walk through the Amazonian jungle where you will observe the local flora and fauna, including the Irapay palm tree. Lunch will be back at the lodge. The rest of your afternoon is at your leisure, enjoying the lodge facilities or you have the option to book an amazonian excursion for an additional cost at the front desk. Later on in the evening, you will be taken on a magical moonlight boat tour on the Momon River. Dinner will be served back at the lodge restaurant.

Day 3

Start off the day with breakfast before heading out on a tour of the Amazon River, where the Amazon and Nanay Rivers meet. Pink dolphins sightings are common on this tour. After the tour you will be transferred back to the Iquitos airport, marking the end of your Amazonian getaway.
