Ourika Valley

Marrakech is an excellent starting point for a visit to the Valley of Ourika. The natural setting surrounding the "Red City" is absolutely breath-taking: the peaks of the High Atlas and the verdant valley of the River Ourika, up above small Berber villages clinging to the mountainsides with their carefully preserved ancestral customs. You simply cannot miss a visit to the High Atlas Mountains where you’ll discover beautiful mountain scenery dotted with numerous Berber settlements, surrounded by emerald green maize plantations. Villages that despite their proximity to the city, jealously preserve their traditional way of life. Enjoy the beauty of the Ourika Valley, a natural garden that extends along the river where the greenery on the banks contrasts with the ochre and reds and browns of the earth in this half-day excursion.
