Day 1: Origin - Mexico City
Arrival at the airport 3 hours before departure, to board flight to Mexico City. Transfer to the Ritz Hotel accommodation 4 * or similar.
Day 2: Mexico City
Breakfast. In this day we will travel through the history of Mexico, visiting: the historic city center "Cultural Heritage of Humanity", the National Palace and its beautiful murals, the Constitution Square or Zocalo, the Templo Mayor Azteca, the Metropolitan Cathedral and its main avenues. Later visit the Chapultepec forest and the famous Zona Rosa. Return to hotel. Accommodation Ritz Hotel 4 * or similar.
Day 3: Ciudad de Mexico - Puebla - Oaxaca
Breakfast. Leave Mexico City, we head west towards Puebla, Mexico’s fourth largest city, passing the photogenic, snow-capped, volcanoes of Popocatepetl (Smoking Mountain, 5464m) and Iztaccíhuatl (Sleeping Lady, 5230m). the City of Angels, visit Santa Maria Tonantzintla, temple gorgeously decorated by indigenous hands. In Puebla, also known as the City of Angels, we will visit the Rosary Chapel, the Cathedral, the main square and historical downtown. Lunch included. Continue to Oaxaca. Accommodation at the hotel Casa Conzatti 4* or similar.
Day 4: Oaxaca - Monte Albán - Mitla - Tule - Oaxaca
Breakfast. Visit Monte Alban, built on a mountain top flattened by the Zapotecs. We will find different culture manifestations such as Olmecs, Mixtecs and Zapotecs. We will continue to Mitla, one of the most enigmatic sacred places. The village had a great importance as a burial site. In route we will find the Tule tree, perhaps one of the biggest living beings in the world. Return to Oaxaca and visit its beautiful city, including the Cathedral, the Magnificent Santo Domingo church and gold museum. Accommodation at the hotel Casa Conzatti 4* or similar.
Day 5: Oaxaca - Suidero Canyon - San Cristobal de las Casas
Box-breakfast on route. Early morning, departure to Tuxtla Gutierrez, capital city of the state of Chiapas. You will enjoy the landscapes of the southern mountains. Lunch included on route. Boat ride through the Sumidero Canyon, with 1000 meters at its highest point. Passing through Chiapa de Corzo on our way to San Cristobal de las Casas. Accommodation at the hotel Diego de Mazariegos 4* or similar.
Day 6: San Cristobal de las Casas
Breakfast. Visit to the Indian Villages of San Juan Chamula & Zinacantan, the complex ethnic composition of Chiapas is reflected in the indigenous communities with a rich variety of customs and beliefs which are expressed in festivals of both pagan and Christian origin, full of mysticism and magic. Afternoon at leisure. We recommend you to visit this beautiful city, the market, the cathedral and the Jade museum. Accommodation at the hotel Diego de Mazariegos 4* or similar.
Day 7: San Cristobal de las Casas - Agua Azul - Palenque
Breakfast. We will leave to Agua Azul waterfalls to admire their turquoise colored waters, possibility of swimming if time permits it. Afterwards we will continue to Palenque. Dinner and overnight at hotel. Accommodation at the hotel Villa Mercedes 4* or similar.
Day 8: Palenque - Campeche
Breakfast. Visit to the archaeological zone of Palenque, surrounded by jungle and one of the prime and most important sites of the Mayan World. Inside the pyramid of the Inscriptions, King Pakal’s sarcophagus and its fascinating carved gravestone were found. We head for the coastal town of Campeche, where the Spanish first set foot on Mexican soil. Campeche’s prosperity as a thriving port town made it a frequent target for attacks by English, French and Dutch pirates. Following the worst attack, in 1663, substantial defensive walls were built around the town. Panoramic view thru the city. Dinner and overnight at hotel. Accommodation at the hotel Plaza Campeche 3* or similar.
Day 9: Campeche - Uxmal - Merida
Breakfast. Departure to Uxmal ”Three times built! To know the Guesser Pyramids, the Quadrangle of the Nuns, Governor’s palace and the ballgame court. After lunch continue to Merida, “The white city” to enjoy a panoramic view of Montejo avenue, the monument to Motherland, the main square, the cathedral and government palace. Accommodation at the hotel El Castellano 4* or similar.
Day 10: Merida - Chichen Itza - Cancun or Riviera Maya
Breakfast. For many, today’s guided excursion will be the highlight of the tour. Chichen-Itza is undoubtedly the best-preserved Maya site on the peninsula, and recently declared one of the New Seven Wonders of the modern world. The ruins were built with such knowledge of cosmology and mathematics that astound scholars from around the world. Lunch at local restaurant near the archaeological site. Continue to Cancun. Accommodation at the hotel Holiday Inn Cancun Arenas 3* or similar.
Day 11: Cancun
Breakfast. Free day to enjoy the beaches of these wonderful destinations or take an optional tour to Isla Mujeres, Xcaret, Tulum or Cozumel. Accommodation at the Holiday Inn Cancun Arenas 3 * or similar.
Day 12: Airport transfer OUT.
At the indicated time transfer to the airport.
