Explore the mystical Mayan jungle in a unique way—on horseback! From a lovely horse ranch in Cozumel, saddle up and follow an experienced guide down forest trails to an ancient Mayan cave. Afterward, there’s plenty of time to lounge around at the hacienda and head to a beautiful beach with access to hammocks, swings and swimming pools. The horseback-riding portion of this tour is perfect for beginners to advanced riders.
Meet your guide at a convenient location in Cozumel at 9am and hop aboard an open-air bus. Enjoy a short scenic drive to a beautiful horse ranch on the eastern side of the island. Upon arrival, professional guides will provide you with a thorough introduction and directions on how to safely ride your horse.
Follow your guide on an approximate 2-hour horseback ride. Head deep into the heart of Cozumel’s jungle, whose trails of lush vegetation surround the ranch. View some vestiges of the ancient Maya and learn about the cultural traditions of the Mayan Empire. You’ll visit a natural cave system once used by the Maya as a shelter and hear about their beliefs and customs.
Ride your horse back to the ranch and disembark at the hacienda. Here, walk amid beautiful gardens, relax under a palapa or hammock, or cool off in the swimming pool before hopping back on the bus.
Continue to a pristine beach with access to an eco-lounge, where you can dive into a seawater pool, work on your tan on a lounge chair or beach bed, or simply laze in a hammock or swing. If you’d like, order a frozen margarita, cold beer or a delicious Mexican lunch (bar and food at own expense).
After this relaxing stop, you’ll return by bus with drop-off at your hotel.
