Rundale Palace is the most outstanding architectural monument (1736 – 1740) of Baroque and Rococo art in the Baltic States. It was built as the summer residence of Duke of Courland Ernst Johan Biron, a well-known figure in the Russian Court. The route to Rundale leads through the small and cosy town of Bauska which is situated between two rivers – the Musa and Memele. The last Castle of the Livonian Order was built there in the XIV century. This excursion will take 5-6 hours.
