Small-Group Rome Night Tour By Minibus With Aperitivo
Board your luxury minibus near the Spanish Steps in central Rome, and then set off to see the illuminated sights of Rome by night. While exploring the historical center of the city, listen to your guide’s entertaining commentary and learn about the history of Rome’s attractions, too.
Travel into the area known as Ancient Rome to see Circus Maximus, the large open space where the famous chariot races — immortalized in the epic Ben Hur film — once took place, and then head back to central Rome to see Piazza Navona. Thronged by restaurants, cafes and bars, the popular square is home to some of the best examples of Baroque sculpture such as the three centerpiece fountains designed by Bernini.
Hop out of your minibus and stroll the short distance to the Trevi Fountain to throw a coin in the water for luck, and then wander across to Rome Pantheon, one of the city’s best-preserved ancient monuments. Step inside to admire the building’s mighty dome, and learn about the great Renaissance artist Raphael who is buried there alongside other eminent Italians.
Leave the Pantheon and continue by minibus into Trastevere, an atmospheric neighborhood, to admire its quaint cobbled streets and vine-clad houses. Ever busy with locals and visitors alike, the area is a popular spot for eating and drinking with many lively restaurants and bars to be found.
Start making your way past Piazza Venezia, home of the spectacular Monument to Vittorio Emmanuele II, and then travel up Giancolo Hill to ogle Rome’s glorious nighttime panoramas. After capturing the sights with a photo, finish your tour with a glass of wine and an Italian delicacy (perhaps olives or bruschetta) in a traditional Roman osteria in central Rome. Bid your guide goodbye inside the osteria and enjoy more wine and food at your own expense, if you wish.
