Day 1: Arrival – Tanah Lot — Umabian (-)
Arrive in the afternoon at the Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar where you will be greeted by your local guide and then heading to Tanah Lot. One of the most famous temples in Bali set dramatically on a small rock about 100m off the coast. When the weather permits Tanah lot will offer you an exquisite sunset and leave the temple just a silhouette.
Afterward drive back to the north of Tabanan and check in to your hotel. The guest rooms laid out in the style of a village compound surrounded by rice field.
Dinner at the hotel.
Overnight.
Day 2: Umabian – Balinese farming – Jatiluih – Ubud ( B,L)
In the morning breakfast at your hotel, start the day with an amazing sustainable tourism excursion at Taman Sari Buwana farm. During this half-day excursion you will experience local Balinese life while supporting a community-based tourism project in the village of Tunjunk.
Upon reaching Tunjunk village, start with a visit to the elementary school (NOTE: closed on weekends and school holidays) before heading to village home base. Prepare for farming activities by donning a farmer’s hat, covering up with mosquito repellent and picking up a local mattock (small farm tool) all provided by the farm. We recommend wearing flip-flops or similar as well as bringing sunscreen.
You’ll then walk with the local farmers to their rice fields, locally referred to as sawah. Alongside the farmers, you will learn how to plant, transplant or harvest rice (depending of the season)
After farming, take a walk around the beautiful rice fields to observe the daily activities of the village. You’ll visit other plantations including a coconut plantation where locals will demonstrate their ability to climb up the trees and gather young coconuts for some refreshment.
Next, return to the home base where you will observe the boiling of cassava in the traditional kitchen before enjoying a delicious lunch at the farm.
Continue heading north through a small wreck road to reach Jatiliuih village. A long the way your eyes is pampered with alluring scenery. Upon arrival at Jatiluih it is the highlight, a spacious fascinated rice terrace in Bali.
Then short cut to Ubud via Mambal to reach the central of art and culture of Bali. Ubud.
Check in at your hotel, free at leisure.
Overnight Ubud.
Day 3: Ubud and surrounding – Kintamani – Besakih – Candidsa (B,L)
Breakfast at hotel.
Spend the morning by discovering the many charms of Ubud as you visit museum palace and local market. Visit ARMA ( Agung Rai Museum of Art ) and enjoy one of the best permanent collection of Balinese and Indonesia paintings. Continue to Ubud Royal palace in the heart of small town. Built in the 16th century the palace is still the home to Ubud’s king and royal family.
After mingle at the local market of Ubud heading to Kintamani. Enjoy the magnificent view from the top of the still active volcano Mount Batur and Lake Batur. Lunch will be served at a panoramic restaurant facing to Mount Batur and Lake Batur.
Afterward drive to east part of Bali visit Besakih temple, Located on the western slopes of Mt Agung, Bali highest volcano (2567 m), Besakih is the largest and most important temple on the island.
In the afternoon drive down to Candidasa via Sidemen and En route you’ll stop in the village of Sibetan to observe traditional weaving and visit a salak plantation where you can taste Bali’s famed ‘snakeskin’ fruit.
Upon arrival at Candidasa, check in and overnight at Candidasa.
Day 4: Candidasa – Tenganan – Kertagosa – Sanur or apt (B,L)
After breakfast at hotel, explore Tenganan village, is the home to the Bali Aga people, Bali first inhabitant who where there ever before the arrival of the Majapahit dynasty who came from Java. You’ll see the village’s primitive architecture as well as observe the weaving of rare “double ikat" pattern and basket weaving.
Continue with a drive to Klungkung to visit the former Royal Courts of Justice known as Kerta Gosa. The highlight here is an elaborately decorated ceiling featuring the “Wayang” style of painting depicting the battle of good versus evil.
Afterward directly heading toward Sanur for your luncheon at a local restaurant before drop off at Denpasar airport for your flight back home or for those who make an extension stay we will drop you off either at Sanur, Nusa Dua Jimbaran or Kuta seminyak area.
