Summary
We will do an exciting trip to Ladakh trekking covering very interesting and picturesque places. We drive to Leh, our base for the trip. It is advised to stay put here before the actual exploration begins. We will roam around in the Leh locality, interact with the locals, eat local food and see the town life up close and personal.
Next we drive to Lamayuru that has the oldest monastery in Ladakh. In Lamayuru resides more than 500 lamas. From Lamayuru we move to Nubra, famous for its flowers and monasteries. From Nubra we will go to Pangong lake, the only brackish lake in the world. It is also the only salt water lake at that height. Pangong lake is beautiful and enchanting, but come winters it becomes one of the harshest places to live in.
From the lake we will go to Serchu. From Serchu we move to Leh, passing through valleys of Nakeela and Lachulangla Pass at 16,617 feet. In between we will stop over at Pang for lunch. From there we will drive across Tanglang La, pass the Indus river and reach Leh by evening. We spend yet another day in Leh, get used to the altitude and next day fly back home.
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival at Leh airport, to be received by our representative and transferred to the Hotel. Check in to the hotel for a Complete day of rest wherein welcome tea and coffee will be served by the Hotel. Lunch will be served at 2.00 PM, after lunch visit Leh Market, Leh Palace, Hall of Fame and Shanti Stupa. Overnight Hotel.
Day 02: Leh to Lamayuru to Ule (160 Kms) After breakfast drive to Lamayuru enroute visit Liker Monastery and Gurudwara Pathar Sahib. Check in Camp at Alchi or Ule and enjoy your hot Lunch. After Lunch drive to visit the mesmerising Moon landscapes and the Lamayuru monastery (Oldest Monastery in Ladakh). Overnight Camp or Hotel.
Day 03: Alchi to Leh (70 Kms) After the Breakfast drive to Leh enroute visit Alchi monastery, Basgo Palace and Hall of Fame. Arrive at Leh by afternoon. Hot Lunch at Hotel. After the free at your leisure. Overnight Hotel.
Day 04: Leh to Nubra Valley (120 Kms) After Breakfast drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla (Highest Motorable road in the World, 18,380 ft). Arrive at Deskit by Afternoon. Rest of the day one is free to explore Deskit, Hunder Villages and camel Safari in Sand Dunes between Deskit and Hunder Village. Overnight Hotel.
Day 05: Nubra Valley to Leh (120 Kms) After Breakfast visit Deskit Monastery and drive back to Leh by same Route, crossing Khardungla Pass. Overnight Hotel.
Day 06: Leh to Pangong Lake to Leh (320 Kms) After early Breakfast leave for Pangong Lake (14,500 ft), through Changla Pass 17,350 ft.,it is the third highest motorable road in the world. 1200 hrs. arrive Pangong,it is the highest salt water Lake in the World, shared by two countries India & China. Packed or Hot Lunch will be provided. Enjoy the beauty of the lake on the Banks of pangong while appreciating the changing Colors and fascinating high altitude of the Lake. Drive back to Leh by the same route. Overnight Hotel.
Day 07: Leh to Tsomoriri Lake (240 Kms.) Morning drive to Tsomoriri passing Chumathang (Hot Spring) along the Indus river. Tsomoriri Arr. 1600 Hrs. Afterwards take a walk around the Lake to enjoy the scenic beauty. Overnight Camp.
Day 08: Tsomoriri Lake to Serchu (230 Kms.) Morning drive to Serchu passing Puga (Sulphur Mine), Tsokar Lake, Skyang chu Thang, Pang, Nakeela and Lchung La. Arrive Serchu by evening. Overnight Camp.
Day 09: Serchu to Manali (222 Kms) After the breakfast drive for Manali via Baralacha La (4845m), Keylong and Rohtang Pass. Arrive Manali by evening. Overnight Hotel.
