The trek to Dzongri is a shorter version of the world famous Goechala - Kanchendzonga Trek. The highest point one reaches during this trek is 4250m and the highest point one sleeps at is 4020m...This particular trek is one of the finest short high Altitude trekking destination in India.

During this trek one will be able to see the panoramic and pristine view of the 16 snow capped towering mountains peaks from Dzongri View point which includes - Mt. Kanchendzonga 8585m, Mt. Kumbukarna 7710m, Mt. Kabur (N) 7338M, Mt. Kabur (S) 7317m, Mt. Simvo 6811m, Mt. Sinolchu 6687m, Mt. Pandim 6691m, Mt. Rathong 6679m, Mt. Kokthang 6147m, Mt. Tenzingkhang 6010m, Mt. Kabru Forked 6008m, Mt. Jopuno 5936m, Mt. Frey Peak 5830m, Mt. Narsing 5825m, Mt. Khanglakhang 5560m, Mt. Goecha Peak 5127m...Apart from this one will be able to see the 360 degree view of the mountains peaks and hills.

The beauty of the natural vegetation and nature during the trek is an added treat to one's eye's and soul!

Day 1: Yuksom / Tshoka (3050 m /13 km / 6-7 hrs)(Camping/huts) - L/D

We begin our trek today through a small village and stop at the Kanchendzonga National Park, check post for checking formalities. Continue to walk through semi-tropical forests, home to a variety of flora and fauna. Crossing the last of the two hanging bridges over rivers Paha Khola and Tshuchey, we arrive at Sachen. Break for lunch and continue to walk to Bahkim. We cross a long old swinging bridge over Prek-Chu, it's a steep climb of 70 degree uphill to Bakhim and we continue climbing steeply to the Tibetan Refugee settlement of Tsokha as we trek through pine and giant rhododendron forests. Here we also get our first view of Mt.Pandim (6780m) and Mt. Tenchinkhang which could be seen from all points of our trek. Tshoka itself is a small village consisting of about a dozen houses and monastery, inhabitated by the Tibetan refugees. O/N camping/huts

Day 2: Tsokha / Dzongri (4030 m / 9 kms / 5-6 hrs)(Camping/huts) - B/L/D

Today we continue our uphill journey through temperate forest till Phedang (3550m), a large clearing in the forest with excellent views of the Kanchenjunga range of mountains. After lunch it's a 40 min steep walk, as we reach the ridge's top, Deorali Dara or Windy hill which one gets the awesome views of the Sikkim Mountains and its peaks. A nice leisurely hour walk through the rhododendron trees and juniper bushes before we reach Dzongri. O/N camping

Day 3: Dzongri – Acclimatization / Dzongrila 4300m (40 mins)(Camping/huts) - B/L/D

Rest day for acclimatization. Rise early at dawn, a 30-40 mins steep hike amidst thin air to Dabla Gang (Dzongri-la OR view point) to view the sunrise on Kangchenjunga and the neighbouring peaks; Rathong 6683m; Kokthang 6150m; Kabru Dome 6604m and Forked Peak 6116m. Return to camp for breakfast. Free to explore, Day hike to Laxmi Pokhari or take a walk toward the Black peak for acclimatization from where we can see Frey's peak and the Rathong valley. Return to camp site. O/N camping.

Day 4: Dzongri / Tshoka (3050m / 9 kms / 4-5 hours)(Camping) - B/L/D

Early morning hike to the view point of Dzongri la for the Panoramic view of majestic Mt. Kanchendzonga and its neighboring Peaks. One can has a spectacular view of around 16 snow capped mountain peaks from the Top of the view points and a 360 degree views of the peaks and hills. This particular view point is one of the best view point in India from where you can have a close up view of Mt. Kanchendzonga and several other peaks. Later after breakfast head back same way to Tshoka.

Day 5: Tshoka / Yuksam (1875m / 13 kms / 5-6 hours)(Hotel Stay) - B/L

Trek back to Yuksam the same way. Hot lunch at sachen or pack Lunch. Evening free to explore the Yuksam. Traditional dinner will be managed in Hotel if preferred.
