The Saga Trail

Leave Reykjavik and head for Hvalfjördur. Before the tunnel underneath the fjord was built, driving along its shores was the only way to get to Borgarnes. Follow this old route, which leads to the Whaling Station on its northern shores, which is still in operation.

Meeting/ Pick up point: Bus terminal at Laekjartorg, Hafnarstraeti 20, in Reykjavik centre. Customers must be at the meeting point 30 min before the departure of the tour.
Duration: eight hours.
Start or opening time: Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday June 10 to August 30 at 8am.
End or closing time: 4pm.
Languages: English (all departures) and German (only on Thursdays)
Others: If customers want to be picked up at the hotel (in Reykjavik only) they must call 24 hours before in order to reconfirm pick up time.
