Imagine Peace Tour

The Imagine Peace Tour is a guided evening tour dedicated to Yoko Ono’s IMAGINE PEACE TOWER and Lennon’s and Ono’s continuing campaign for world peace. It starts with hotel pick up, then a ferry ride to Viðey Island and a guided walk towards the IMAGINE PEACE TOWER with interesting stopovers on the way. After the tour guests are returned back to their hotel. The tour unites history, art and nature in an interesting way and the ever changing weather plays an interesting part to the strength, intensity and brilliance of the IMAGINE PEACE TOWER’S light.

The Imagine Peace Tower is an outdoor work of art conceived by Yoko Ono in memory of John Lennon. It is situated on Viðey Island in Reykjavík, Iceland. Every year the Imagine Peace Tower emerges an hour after sunset between 9 October (Lennon's day of birth) and 8 December (Lennon's demise). In addition the Imagine Peace Tower emerges from winter solstice to the New Year and for one week during spring equinox and few other selected dates.

"One of the mesmerising features of the IMAGINE PEACE TOWER is that the strength, intensity and brilliance of its light continually changes with the prevailing weather and atmospheric conditions unique to Iceland - creating a clear pillar of light on a cloudless night, beams iridescent with rainbow refractions in rain or snowfall, and brilliantly reflecting off and through any moving layers of cloud."
