Start your day by floating around in zero gravity, looking 40 metres down to the bottom in the purest water on earth knowing that the walls on each side are from two different continents. This tour includes snorkelling or diving in Þingvellir National Park. You will be guided both over and under the surface by qualified dive instructors.
This tour runs in two formats as Whales and Snorkelling, which is available between April 1 and September 30, and as Whales and Diving, which is available between May 15 and September 15.
For the snorkelling version, you will be picked up from your hotel at about 8am and driven to Þingvellir National Park, some 45km from Reykjavik. Snorkel in the crystal clear glacial waters of Silfra and enjoy visibility of more than 100m while in the crack that separates the European and American continental shelves. The total time of snorkelling is approximately one hour. Then take a shuttle bus to Reykjavik harbour for the whale watching in Faxafloi Bay, returning to port for 4pm and then back to your hotel.
The diving version is identical except that you spend four hours in the water and don’t sail for the whale watching until 5pm. Return to port is at about 8pm.
Languages: Tour is offered in English. German, Spanish and French are available on request.
Other information: When booking, don't forget to mention your height and weight so that you'll be provided with the necessary equipment in the appropriate size. We recommend though bringing, or wearing, warm undergarments such as fleece/wool sweater, pants and socks. There is a minimum of two snorkelers/divers on this tour, but most of the time it is possible for single travellers to join an already existing tour.
