Grand city tour Budapest + Parliament (5 hours).

GRAND CITY TOUR BUDAPEST + PARLIAMENT (5 HOURS)

We will visit the 'Pearl of the Danube', as the city of Budapest has been called due to its geographical location along the beautiful Danube. The river crosses through the city separating the plain of Pest from the hilly side of Buda. Hungarians consider this to be a great present from God.

The tour will begin with visits to the Heroes' Square, the City Park with the Vajdahunyad Castle, and the Széchenyi Thermal Baths. Then we will continue down the famous Andrássy Avenue with a visit to the State Opera House, Museum of Terror, and St. Stephen's Basilica. We will also look at the beautiful Parliament, then continue up to the Castle District to the Fishermen's Bastion, and Mathias Church. Our last visit will be to the panoramic Citadell.

After the tour we will walk through the Parliament building to see the magnificant interior including the Holy Hungarian Royal Crown and Regalia. The kings were accepted by Hungarian people only if they were coronated with this crown; we will also see the orb with the double apostolic cross which symbolizes the ecclesiasthical power of Arpadian kings and the integrity of Hungary, the sceptre which symbolizes the legislative power and the sword which represents the military power of the kings.

These four things now symbolize the Hungarian Statehood.
