Conch Shell House and Pedro St James Great House

Visit two Cayman Islands historical landmarks on this 2.5-hour sightseeing tour of Grand Cayman! Admire the unique construction of the Conch Shell House, used as a World War II bomb depot, and view the Pedro St James Great House, a national historic site. Learn about the rich culture and history of the islands from your local guide, and complete your tour with a stop at the Stingray Brewery for a refreshing beer.

Upon pickup, depart from your Georgetown hotel for the Grand Cayman's famed Conch Shell House, a historical building constructed with more than 4,000 conch shells. Dating from 1935, this must-see landmark, once used as a bomb depot by the US Navy in WWII, has remained intact through hurricanes and floods on the CaymanIslands.
From here, your guide will accompany you to a national historic site - the Pedro St James Great House - where Grand Cayman officials met in 1831 to form the first elected parliament and in 1835 to abolish slavery in the islands. Head to the visitor center to see multi-media exhibits for a glimpse into Pedro St James' past, and learn about the building's functions over more than two centuries while it served as a courthouse, jail, Government Assembly and restaurant.
Complement your tour of the restored 'Pedro Castle' with a stroll through the gift shop and gardens. Before drop-off at your hotel, depart Pedro St James for the Stingray Brewery and experience a taste of Cayman's original beer!
