Formigal: Skipasses

At a maximum altitude of 2,250 m this ski resort is one of the main ones in Spain, with 83 km of skiable terrain divided into 71 tracks of different levels of difficulty and numerous lifts. It offers 23 lifts that are capable of transporting the greatest numbers of people in the Pyrenees: 30,054 skiers per hour. It is formed by vast natural meadows, something that, along with the unique location of the resort and the modern facilities (282 snow cannons) ensures adequate supplies of snow. In addition, it offers five special tracks: family areas or slow-speed areas dedicated to beginners and children, and also a "Video Slalom" track for timed descents. Standard competition tracks (descent, giant and slalom pistes). It offers diverse and alternative leisure options to suit all tastes. Here, nights out can be loads of fun. On Fridays, Saturdays and on holiday eve, access to the track is provided. It is also possible to sample an excellent alpine dinner whilst surveying the illuminated mountainscape. Alternative activities to enjoy at the resort are the easy-to-use snow bikes, and husky dog sled rides. National and international trials in all ski disciplines have been held at the resort and it is also the setting for traditional activities on important dates, such as New Year's Eve, Epiphany and during the carnival.
