DETAILED TOUR ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrival
Today you will be meet and assist by our representative in Cairo International Airport. Transfer to your hotel in Cairo to check in your hotel and overnight.
Day 2 Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum
After being picked up from the hotel at 8am you will have a full day guided tour starting with the Giza plateau to visit the famous Great Pyramids of the Kings Cheops, Chefren and Mycernius (2550 BC). Especially the Great Pyramid which is the only one still standing from the 7 wonders of the ancient world.
Then proceed with a visit to the mighty Sphinx and its valley temple, where the mummification process was taking place. Before leaving Giza, pay a short visit to the interesting papyrus workshop and see the making of the papyrus paper — the same way of how the ancient Egyptian craftsman were making it.
Break for lunch at one of the local restaurants (optional). Then continue the tour visiting the Egyptian museum of antiquities which houses the fabulous collection and treasures which were founded in the intact tomb of the most famous ancient Egyptian king — Tutankhamon. This is beside more than 250000 genuine artifacts are presented. Then transfer to the train station for your overnight sleeper train to Aswan. Dinner on the train. Overnight in sleeper train.
Day 3 Aswan
After arriving to Aswan train station you will be picked up and transfer to your hotel to check in.
Today you have the choice between having a free day in Aswan at your leisure or you can take the optional tour visiting Abu Simbel where you will visit the great temple of King Ramsess II (additional cost).
Free afternoon or take an optional tour (additional cost) by a sailing boat (Felucca) to Elephantine Island where you will spend a nice time in the Nubian village to discover the simple and natural life of the very kind and hospitable Nubian people and stop by the Crocodile Park, then back to the hotel. Overnight in Aswan.
Day 4 Nile Cruise — Aswan — Kom Ombo — Edfu
Breakfast. Transfer to the cruise ship. Boarding before lunch, embarkation, then leave the cruise to start your guided tour visiting:
1 — Aswan`s Highdam gaze across lack Nasser.
2 — The Philae Temple which can be reached by a sailing boat as in situated on a small island in the Nile (Agilkia island), the temple dedicated to the Egyptian Goddess Isis.
Lunch on board then keep sailing to Kom Ombo to visit there the temple shared by the two gods Sobek and Horus. After this visit you will get back to the cruise keep sailing to Edfu, dinner on board and overnight in Edfu.
Day 5 Nile Cruise — Edfu — Luxor
Breakfast on board. Visit The Temple of Horus in Edfu. Cross the lake. Sail to Luxor. Afternoon Tea. Dinner on board & Galabya party.
Overnight in Luxor.
Day 6 Nile Cruise — Luxor
Today you will have an unforgettable guided day tour visiting Luxor`s highlights. After breakfast on board start the tour by crossing to the West Bank of the Nile visiting the Valley of the Kings (Luxor`s ancient necropolis). Visit the tombs of the ancient Egyptian kings from different dynasties, the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari.
On the return journey stop at the Colossi of Memnon which are two gigantic sitting statues representing Amenopis III facing the Nile. Then visit East Bank: Karnak and Luxor Temples. Overnight on board in Luxor.
Day 7 Disembarkation — Luxor
Breakfast on board. Disembarkation.
Today is free at your leisure in Luxor or you can have the amazing optional guided day tour to Abydos and Dendara (additional cost). You will be picked up from your hotel in Luxor, drive via air-conditioned modern van to Abydos, enjoy an excursion to visit Abydos which is 135 km. far from Luxor, visit the temple recognized as the temple of Seti I. The temple was first built by king Seti I and later it was finished by king Ramses II. The paintings on the walls of the Osiris temple at Abydos representing the Pharaohs and the gods are considered amongst the most beautifully maintained in Egypt. Then drive to Dandara and visit the temple of goddess of joy and love, goddess Hathor. At the end of your tour drive back to Luxor to your hotel. Then you will be transferred from the hotel to Luxor train station to take the overnight sleeper train back to Cairo, dinner in the train and overnight.
Day 8 Cairo — Alexandria
Breakfast in the train. Then from the train station in Cairo the tour to Alexandria will start by an A/c private van. You will be driven to Alexandria (approximate 3 hours) and after arriving there you will check in the hotel.
Then you will start your guided tour in Alexandria this beautiful city on the Egyptian northern coast and still has its unique ancient Greco -Roman style as it was founded by the followers of Alexander the great after the Greek conquest in Egypt and became the capital of Egypt during the Greek occupation and it is still the 2nd biggest city in Egypt after Cairo and the local summering beach. Start the tour visiting:
— The Roman Theater (a theater with marble seats up to 800 spectators, galleries, section of mosaic flooring & a pleasure garden surrounded by Roman villas & baths).
— Pompay's Pillar which was built on the honor of the Roman emperor Diocletian by the people of Alexandria in 297 AD .
— The Catacomb of Kom El-Shoqafa, then a visit to Mosque Morsi Abo Al Abass and the For of Sultan Quitbay which was built in the 13th century AD on the ruins of the famous ancient lighthouse of Alexandria. Then drive along the sea Cornish passing the whole city to reach to Montazah gardens on of the main sight seeings in Alexandria and the Palace of King Farouk, the last king of Egypt who was exiled to Italy after the Egyptian army revolution against his rule in 1952.
Overnight stay in Alexandria.
Day 9 Alexandria — Cairo
Breakfast. Transfer to Cairo by A/C car. Arrival, meet and assist by our representatives. Transfer to your hotel.
**Optional Cairo by night trip** (additional cost)
At 5 pm you will be picked up from your hotel in Cairo and being transferred by an A/C private car to Khan AL Khalili Bazaar which is located in the Old Cairo and surrounded by Cairo`s medieval buildings, suburbs and old mosques. Have a walking tour there and drink a hot mint tea or smoke shisha in one of its old interesting cafes.
Then you will be taken to the Nile cruise which will move for two hours, passing Cairo`s main attractions. Enjoy your open buffet dinner and watch the Belly Dance and Tanura Show. Then get to the roof to smell the fresh air and watch the lightened Cairo tower, the fancy buildings and hotels.
The boat returns at approximately 10 pm and you will be transferred back to your hotel.
Day 10 Departure (B)
Breakfast in the hotel, transfer to Cairo Airport.
