The YARINA Eco Lodge is strategically located in an area of forest that counts on the highest diversity of micro-habitats in the Napo area. This means that there are more species of animals, birds, reptiles and insects than anywhere else on the Napo river or in the surroundings.

Yarina Eco Lodge started 10 years ago as a program to teach the importance of conserving wildlife and our environment with the local community. However, year by year, the lodge was growing, changing and developing new important forms of work with the local people, along with national and international tourists. Today, the lodge is considered one of the most important and best rescue centers of wildlife in the Ecuadorian Amazon.
Program descriptions
Monday / Friday .- at 10:30 am departure the motor boart canoe and navigate by the napo river for arround 1 hour to the Yarina Eco Lodge. lunch.
In the afternoon, we will visit the Socali path, characterized for a variety of different jungle lands. This path is used as an introduction trail to learn about the flora and fauna that is possible to find in different types of forest. Return to the lodge to have dinner. Resting time.
Tuesday / Saturday .- After breakfast we will visit the Capibara path. An adventure trail with many swamps. In this trail you will see some palm trees that are impossible to see in other places. Return to the lodge to have lunch.
In the afternoon, without rubber boots and in comfortable dress, (shorts are recommended) the local guides are going to teach us how to use the blowpipe. After this activity we will take a small canoe to enjoy some piranha fishing. Return to the lodge to have dinner. Resting time.
Wednesday .- Breakfast. We will wear our rubber boots and jungle dress and take a canoe up river while watching birds, butterflies, orchids and amphibians until we reach the trail «Dos ramas». We will take a short hike to learn about medicinal plants, birds and animals. Return to the lodge to have lunch.
In the afternoon, we will take the Tucan trail. path that is characterized by its ease for birdwatching, in the area we have recorded over 350 species of birds. Return to the lodge to have dinner. Resting time.
Thrusday / Sunday .- After breakfast we will take the motor boat to go out of the borders of our reserve and visit an indigenous family of the Quichuas del Oriente community. Our guides will talk to you about traditions and costumes of these tribes. Return to the lodge to have lunch.
In the afternoon, we will walk through the «Guatusos trail». A new opportunity to learn from our guides the utility of some plants, about birds, insects and animals. Return to the lodge to have dinner. Resting time.
Friday / Monday.- After breakfast deparure to Coca by motor boat canoe in order to continue your travel to Quito or other turistic places.
