In 1978 Quito was declared a “Cultural Heritage of the World” by UNESCO. Our guide will take you to the downtown. You will visit the “National Basilica”, the Historical Centre with its churches and monuments such as the “Independence Square”, the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace, the Cathedral of Quito, and the Municipality, then the “Compañía de Jésus” and “San Francisco” churches. Later, we will go to “Panecillo Hill” a natural view point where we have the statue of the Winged Virgin that protects the city and from there you will be able to notice the difference between the modern and old city.
