An insider's view of Europe's last divided capital.
The Nicosia tour gives you a crash course in the history and present status of the last divided capital of Europe.
We begin our visit with a stop at the Handicraft Center, in which you can see the various workshops and the professions of the past. Visit the pottery workshop, the traditional costumes making, the lace making, leather products, wood curving and many more.
We then continue our tour passing by the Presidential Palace as we approach the Old Town with a visit to the Nicosia Archaeological Museum that presents artifacts from 8,500 B.C to 500 A.D. We drive alongside the Venetian Walls of Nicosia and we take a walk to see the main Pedestrian streets of the Old City, We climb the Siakolas Observatory where, on the eleventh floor, we enjoy a birds-point-of-view of the whole of Nicosia — both North and South. Up there, there are no borders and no divisions and we marvel at a city, so unique in its history and so rich in its culture. Free time available for lunch, coffee, refreshments, shopping, strolling and photo taking.
Later, we head for the Archbishop's Palace, and also visit the Cathedral of Saint John. Our tour then takes us to the Byzantine Icon museum and we meet at the Statue of Liberty for photo taking and return back to our resorts.
