SPLIT AND TROGIR,Cities under UNESCO protection-all day excursion by bus An interesting ride through picturesque makarska and Omis Riviera past the ancient Salona will bring us to Trogir-city on UNESCO cultural heritage list,built in place of ancient Greek settlement Tragurion.The city surrounded by medieval walls has many buildings that testify to its rich history,most notably the Cathedral with the famous portal of master Radovan,city loggia from 15th century,City Hall,the Cipiko palace and Benedictine Monastery from the 11th century. Split is the biggest city and port in Dalmatia today,a city buildt 1700 years ago on the marjan peninsula,surrounded by historical cities and settlements.We will walk the narrow streets of the Diokletian's Palace from the 4th century,tours its excellently preserved cellar galleries and on the central ancient Peristil Squere visit the old temple of Jupiter,today the city Cathedral and oldest building of its kind in the world.We will also pass through the famous Golden and Silver gates and pass historical squeres to reach the lively city market and Riva where you can spend your free afternoon enjoying yourselves strolling or shoping.
