Una Hacienda & King of Miracles of Buga Cathedral.

This excursion you can choose to visit The Hacienda Paradise or Piedechine. Continue to the tour in the city of Buga where you will visit the Basilica of Our Lord of Miracles which was named by Pope Pius XI with the title of Basilica Minor, whose construction took 15 years ending in the year 1907.

The new Temple of Buga, this title was conferred by the Holy See of Rome. In 1875, seeing that the Temple was badly damaged, the Archbishop of Popayán solved brought to inhabit a religious community and that's how the community of Redemptorists was received with great joy and soon donations from the faithful, began the construction, which had to start right there producing four million bricks and twelve thousand pounds of lime. Hearing the ringing of bells all the neighbors came out hurriedly and in command of the priests were going to the river to bring materials for construction.

The first stone was blessed Bishop Ortiz, Archbishop of Popayán, and served as godfather President Dr. Rafael Nunez. Construction of the Temple lasted fifteen years, made during difficult times of war, for example, the War of a Thousand Days, etc..On August 2, 1907 (Feast of St. Alphonsus, founder of the Redemptorists), we proceeded to the Solemn Blessing and inauguration attended by great personalities including the Papal Nuncio or ambassador of the Holy Father and Bishop Ragonesi new Archbishop of Popayán Monsignor Antonio Arboleda, as well as countless faithful devotees coming from different parts of the country."
