Bogota City Tour

Discover the treasures of Bogota during this fascinating four-hour guided tour taking in the city’s top sights and with visits to two museums, including the world-famous Gold Museum. Your adventure begins with a panoramic sightseeing expedition through the colonial-era streets of old Bogota and ends in a former ecclesiastical palace.

Wander through the historic core of the city, passing by the Columbus Theatre, San Carlos Palace, which now houses the Foreign Ministry, and the monumental Plaza de Bolivar, the location of the beautiful baroque Primary Cathedral, the Capitol and the City Hall.

Visit the Gold Museum, where more than 3,400 pieces of gold are displayed as well as over 20,000 archaeological remains, including ceramics and textiles from 13 cultures. This dazzling museum explains the history of gold and other metals among societies inhabited the current territory of Colombia. Other themes explored include cosmology and the symbolism of metals.

Continue to an immaturely restored colonial-era palace to view the sensational Botero exhibition, which is named after Colombia’s greatest living artist, Fernando Botero. His figurative and representational styles are highly sought after and, unusually in modern art, unique to him and instantly recognisable in a style known as Boterismo. The collection is split between worked collected by him and those he made himself. See works by renowned international artists such as Francis Bacon, Marc Chagall, Dali and Picasso among many. The 123 works by Botero himself include sketches, watercolours, oils and sculptures.
