This private adventure will take you on a hike along the scenic coastline of Sai Kung East Country Park, one of Hong Kong's hidden natural gems. Enjoy the sights of lush tropical vegetation, forested ridges and breathtaking mountain and coastal landscapes.
After pickup from a central meeting location in Hong Kong, head to Sai Kung East Country Park, about an hour away, with your guide. Feel the ocean breeze as you walk along the white-sand shores of remote beaches and admire the beautiful clear-blue water around the Sai Kung Peninsula. Follow your guide on a network of paths past old Hakka villages, some deserted due to villagers leaving these lands for city life. Learn about the history of the villages and the lifestyle of the locals who once lived there.
Your guide will point out various small eateries in some villages where you can have lunch (own expense). You may also bring your own lunch and have a picnic on one of the beaches.
Hiking itineraries tend to change but places you may visit include the villages and beaches of Sai Wan and Ham Tin and and the High Island Reservoir. You may also visit the historical village of Chek Keng, where former villagers occasionally visit to check on their ancestral homes. Your experienced guide has extensive knowledge of the area, and will tailor your hike based on your own interests and preferences. After your private hiking tour, return to central Hong Kong in the evening. Additional Info

  • Comfortable walking shoes or sneakers; casual sandals or open-toed shoes are not suitable for trails
  • During winter season (Nov-March), a sweater or fleece is advisable. During the wet season (April-Sept), a waterproof jacket is recommended. During warmer months (May-Oct), a spare T-shirt or garment is recommended to change into at the end of the hike.
