Nanjing is an ancient city with more than 2000 years long history, and this history left a lot of evidence all around the city. I live and love this city, so let me show you around!
We start at the local wet market, which is also a local community center, where everyday neighbours meet for a chat and get the fresh food. You will be amazed with abundance of vegetables even at this particular small market. Good possibility to shoot ''china-flavoured pictures''.
Next destination is Ji Ming Si, oldest Buddist Temple in Nanjing. Be inspired by the quiet atmoshpere in the middle of the 8 millions city, you can still meet nonnes doing their choires or praying here.
From here we can easily get to Nanjing City Wall, the best preserved citywall in China, with total length of 35 km, which was built in the 14th. century by Ming Emperor Hongwu. Each stone has a quality seal with worker name on it — this is real tracibility!
For late lunch/early dinner we have the option to get to famous local cuisine restaurant, where you can sample all local Nanjing food in a truly Chinese setting.
Optional — Zhonghua gate
In the evening we will attend the night market at the Confucius temple, where you can shop for souvenirs and take a ride on the boat on Qinhua river.
