1-Day Guided Hike: Our hike to the summit of mont Jacques Cartier and back (8,3 km) takes us to the highest altitude in southern Québec. We hike to tundra conditions found in much more northerly areas of Québec. This is the sector of the park offering the best chances for observation of Wood Caribou.
2-Day Guided Hike: The first day we drive to the departure point of our hike at Lake Cascapedia and then take a shuttle to the trailhead at Lake Thibault. That day we hike 12.4 kilomètres with a little loop at the end of the day to appreciate a beautiful lookout: le Pic de l’Aube. We sleep at the Mésange (Chickadee) shelter. The 2nd day, after a good breakfast, we leave the Mésange to hike toward Lake Cascapedia, passing by another outcrop, le Pic du Brûlé and Lake Gouache. Distance day 2: 14 km.
3-Day Guided Hike:We hike to the summit of Mont Jacques Cartier and back (8,3 km). After the hike we return to the Mont Albert campground to have our evening meal and to sleep in a park shelter. The next morning we will have a generous breakfast at the Gîte du Mont Albert. On day 2, after a transport to Lake Thibault, we will walk 12.4 kilomètres to reach the Mésange shelter, including a short side trip to admire the view at the Pic de l’Aube. Lunch on the trail and supper at the shelter. The 3rd day, after a good breakfast, we leave the Mésange to hike toward Lake Cascapedia. Distance day 3: 14 km.
4-Day Guided Hike:The first day we drive to the arrival point of our hike at Lake Cascapedia and then take a shuttle to the trailhead at Lake Thibault. That day we hike 12.4 kms. with a little loop at the end of the day to appreciate a beautiful lookout: le Pic de l’Aube. We sleep at the Mésange (Chickadee) shelter. On day 3 we leave Lake Cascapedia for a 8,4 kilometre walk to reach the Paruline (Warbler) shelter, passing over the summits of Mont Ells and le Mont du Milieu. The fourth day, after a good breakfast, we will leave the shelter to walk 20,5 km to reach and cross the table summit of mont Albert and to descend the other side to reach the Gîte du Mont Albert and the Park Discovery Centre.
