Discover Bulgaria

This tour was designed by a special request — to see and make the most out of a short stay in Bulgaria. In two rich days you will see Koprivshtitza — a historical and architectural reserve, living town; Kazanluk — two tracian tombs, telling you the history of these lands; Etura open air ethnographic museum; Tryavna — another small jewel town of craftsmen; Veliko Tarnovo — the capital of the second Bulgarian Kingdom; village of Arbanassi with famous churches from 17th century.
The tour provides enough time to make it flexible and see even more — the Troyan monastery, The Preobrajenie (transfiguration) monastery and other places as we move.

Day 1: Pick up from hotel, starting to Koprivshtitza. In about 2 hrs we will do sightseeing of the architectural reserve. Then we proceed to Kazanluk — the town in the heart of the Valey of roses, famous also with about 20 Thracian tombs. In 1 1/2 hrs we'll be a the Kazanluk Thracian tomb, then we'll visit the tomb of the Thracian king Seutes III; visit of the «Nativity of Christ» Russian church. Continue to «Etara» ethnographical museum. Spend the night at Bozentzi village or Etara.

Day 2: Start to Tryavna — an old town of craftsmen, representing further the development of craftmanship of Bulgarian masters. Following — Veliko Turnovo, the capital of the 2nd Bulgarian Kingdom. Visit of the fortress, the unified church «St. st. Peter and Paul». Visit to the village of Arbanassi — «Konstantzalieva house» and the church «Nativity of Christ» from 17th century. On the way to Sofia — visit to the Preobrazhenie (transfiguration) monastery.
