The Chapada Diamantina is located in the heart of Bahia and offers a splendid occasion to discover Bahia`s wild and salvage interior. The little town of Lençois is from where we will discover this little region. A remainder from the mining days, the small colourfull community has preserved its colonial past and likes to serve good food and drinks in the evenings when visitors return from their expeditions.
Day 1:
Early morning meet and greet at Salvador’s main bus terminal. Our local guide is not going with you but he will check you in and instruct you about the bus ride to Lençois, gateway to the Chapada Diamantina. Upon arrival another guide will be waiting to accompany you to your hotel. Since the trip will be from point to point (no connections or bus switching) it is pretty straightforward. The whole journey should take around 6hrs whit a short stop or 2 for a quick snack and to freshen up a little. The road to Chapada Diamantina is in a good state and busses are comfortable and in good condition, so sit back and enjoy the wonderful landscape evolving around you. Upon arrival in Lençois our local guide will meet you and accompany you to your hotel.
In the afternoon we departure for a 6km hike through the surrounding area, visiting the Serrano, the sand palace, the Haley source, Cachoeirinha and finally Cachoeira da Primavera. You'll have several opportunities to get wet in some of the waterfalls we will encounter along the way. (Level: moderate). Return to the hotel and overnight.
Day 2:
Breakfast. Early departure for Iraquara and the Gruta da Pratinha. The Partinha River and its crystal clear waters are perfect for a quick dip. We will visit the Blue Cave (gruta azul) and you will get a change to snorkel or a shot at Tyrolean crossing (optional). Next we continue our trip to the Gruta da Lapa Doce. This region is famous for its calcium formation and is riddles with natural caves. A local guide will show us the marvellous formations, millions of years old. A lunchbox will be served along the way. To finish the day in beauty we will go up the majestic Pai Inacio, from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the region. Today we will have driven around 150km, walked for some 7km in easy conditions, suited for everyone. Return to hotel and free time to explore Lençois by night and grab a local drink or Capeta, which means devil..., need we say more!
Day 3:
Breakfast and departure for Salvador. End of our services.

The excursions in this trip are of a moderate level.
You will want to carry: hiking shoes, sun cap, sunglasses, shorts, light sweater for the evenings, rain cap, mosquito protection, swimming gear.
