Cross the border into Bavaria near the salt mines, and then up to the former village of Obersalzberg, which was once used as a base for the Third Reich. Board a special bus for a breathtaking journey up the four-mile road to the Eagle’s Nest, or Kehlsteinhaus, the famous mountain retreat of Adolf Hitler. Upon arrival, climb on an elevator that will take you more than 400ft through the mountain and directly into the Eagle's Nest, perched atop 6,017ft high Mt Kehlstein, and learn why Allied bombs failed to destroy this piece of architecture.

Once here, enjoy some free time to explore the building before reliving with us the true story of the von Trapp family, immortalized in the film, The Sound Of Music, filmed in and around Salzburg. The tour, which has been Salzburg’s most popular for more than 40 years, is a combination of both this historical city and the breathtaking Salzkammergut-Lakes and Mountains area. Our bus company (Albus) was involved in the making of the film back in 1964 and today our experienced tour guides are proud to show guests from around the world exactly where this famous movie was filmed.
